LABYRINTH

Date: Sunday, March 14, 2010 - Friday, April 02, 2010
Time: 03:00 PM - 05:00 PM
Location: Labyrinth Walk in Audubon Park, New Orleans

The Labyrinth Walk

Two blocks toward the Mississippi River from Magazine Street in Audubon Park of New Orleans, and just steps from the horse stables, is a beautiful outdoor stone labyrinth planted in the ground. This multi-colored walking path leads us into and out from the center. It is surrounded by benches to sit and reflect under giant moss-covered trees. Each bench has a meditative quotation selected by the patron of that bench.

The way to walk a labyrinth is at your own pace, in your own way. The presence of this gift is to enhance your own time to slow down and "be," to practice strolling, gazing inwardly and outwardly, to risk "getting lost" and to discover there is "no wrong way" to be on your path.

The Good Friday walk will be facilitated by Ms. Lisa Norris as a particular time to reflect on the meaning of the gift of his life by the Christ and the way this affects each one of us. For more information you may contact William Thiele in the church office at Rayne Memorial United Methodist Church. (If there should be weather problems the labyrinth walk will be moved indoors at Rayne UMC, 3900 St. Charles Ave.)
